One of my favorite things is leading a high school growth group, I've been leading a growth group for the past year. And as a group group leader, I get together with 12 students every Monday and we get the opportubity to do life together. It's been super awesome getting to know each student individually and learning from them as much as I hope they're learning from our time together. We literally talk about everything, which is what makes it fun but also challenging. The topics of conversation always vary, but it's always an adventure growing and learning together. Some of the things we talked about are: dating, community, conflict, etc. Anyway, enough background. Last Monday, I was invited to hangout at one of my students' house. A huge part of me was saying to not go because I was really tired and for a moment I had made the decision to not go. Then I stopped and asked myself, "what kind of example am I setting but not going?". Come on! Not a very good one. I quickly grabbed my car keys and stormed out of my house and I was on my way. I got there like two hours late, but at the end it was so worth it. We ate pizza, played scrabble, and other silly games. The most important thing was that we spent time together, just catching up. SAY YES TO CONNECTION! There's so many opportunities being handed to you every single day to make true connections with your friends, family, coworkers! SAY YES TO CONNECTION! Be bold and open to not take time for granted and go out and connect. Truly connect. Get to know others because you want to and you enjoy it. How are you connecting this weekend?
