Back in high school, I always thought I had an attitude issue. In reality I didn't, I just had a negative perspective on everything! As a young adult, that didn't change much. I found myself always expecting the worst in people, situations, and even in myself. Somehow it made sense to me, if you have negative expectations no one can let you down. It worked for many years, except that it's exhausting to constantly feel like everything sucks because it truly doesn't. For the past three months I've tried something different and I love it! Every morning before fully starting my day, I journal about the things that I'm grateful for and then I pray. Even in difficult times, starting with gratitude has helped me get a completely new and fresh perspective about life. I find myself feeling more confident and more joyful. What are you grateful for?
