The Power of Language

Your words have power.
Language has the ability to reflect and shape your reality. The choice of words you use when having a conversation can directly influence where the conversation is going and how you feel afterwards. After a long day at school or at work someone might ask you, "How was your day today?." To which you might respond with a simple "it was okay" or "it was whatever." Here's the crazy thought, if the question were to be asked differently... everything changes. What if instead of asking "how was your day today?" You were asked "what sucked about today?" Your mind will start to ponder on all the things that were bad that day. The same way goes when we switch the question to "what was awesome about today?" Then your mind will focus on all the good things that happened that day, even if it's something small. Choose your words wisely, they have an influence on your perceptions and attitudes. Pay attention to the awesome things life throws at you.
